Today, the house is a mess.
After yesterday's Sabbath and its mere 24 hours of not-keeping-it-up, today dawns with an insistent focus on cleaning and organizing -- or at least I feel it should -- at odds with the reality in which I am actually very sleepy.
On winter break, we have too much (or just enough?) abandoned our schedules: sleeping long, playing until late. In truth, this sounds exactly like what we are meant to do on winter break.
Perhaps, then, it is not a mistake to have been together playing and sleeping, reading and visiting--leaving Earth-orbit for awhile. We have instead been swinging in broader ellipses, finding a new relationship to gravity.
The new relationship to (daily grind's) gravity may yet allow us to re-enter the familiar orbits a bit lighter, and full of light--having discovered a better balance between weight and upward leaping.
